Hailing from Detroit, Pistol Day Parade is a hard rock band on the horizon that’s surely becoming a force to be recon with.
Despite the tough economic times that Detroit is facing, that doesn’t stop their fans from showing love towards their music. They have sold 7,500 physical copies and that’s not including the potential outcome from their newest release, Burn, which came out September 10th. Pistol Day Parade have sold thousands of copies digitally and are consistently featured on Nikki Sixx’s (Motley Crue) nationally syndicated radio show, Sixx Sense.
Detroit and musical quality has a natural essence of going together so smoothly. Eminem, Kid Rock, Madonna, Iggy Pop, and Bob Seger are just a few of the many prominent icons that came out of Detroit. It’s simply an understatement to say that Pistol Day Parade has big shoes to fill. However; they have a consistent track record of opening for bands such as Stone Temple Pilots, Filter, and Creed, where the aspect of passing the torch is much more accessible than many music scenes of today.
Lollio was kind enough to express his feelings on Detroit’s music scene and how its past has impacted the present. He further elaborates on how artists who have made it big are very communicative towards Pistol Day Parade in such a familiar environment.
“Detroit has an awesome reputation being that it’s such a great music city. It’s very close-knitted. An example is one of my best friends plays guitar with Uncle Cracker. Music is so rich in Detroit and I’m blessed to be from here as a musician. Sometimes when we go on the road towards these smaller markets, it’s humbling for sure,” said Lollio.
With that being said, fans play a crucial role to further upraise Pistol Day Parade. For those reading this article, make them feel like they’re in Detroit if they come to your hometown. A valid suggestion for starting this uproar is sharing their new music video for their new single “Not Today”. Don’t wait until tomorrow, do it now.
