Velvet Grunge pioneers Ghosts of Eden are set to release the music video for their hit single “In Motion” off of their sophomore effort, Something (kinetic). The follow-up to their debut EP Ignorance and Lies, the six-track EP is “unable to suppress its taste for melody. Ghosts of Eden blends elements of hard-core punk with commercially minded heavy rock. The band hits hard as its songs build to anthemic crescendos.” explains The Wall Street Journal.
Showcasing musical influences from Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins, Ghosts of Eden hold an additional strength in Lead singer, Tom’s voice, “that is absolutely strong and spine tingling,” states The Aquarian Weekly. The hit single, “In Motion,” “is way better than any of that modern rock garbage I hear on the radio,” declares Metal Core Fanzine, and seemed like a natural fit for their first music video.
Set with the intention to create something that gives everyone a visual presentation of what “Velvet Grunge” can be, the video features NYC rock/metal and long time Fuse Uranium personality, Tim No 37, acting out a human video game. The visual presentation for the single aims to awaken the audience’s kid inside- Forcing them to think back to the time they experienced goose bumps playing Mario Kart: ”In Motion is the music video kids… Make that adults, of all ages will be addicted to.” -Scott Vollweiler, Owner/Managing Editor, Broken Records Magazine.
Ghosts of Eden will hold their video release show at Drom in NYC on August 8th. The quartet is a band that is “fueled with lyrics that will grab you by the throat. You can feel the high energy unleashing in their recordings and live shows. Their music causes the entire room to dance or simply jump along with the beat,” describes Playgroundz.net.
