LAMB OF GOD & SLIPKNOT: PRIMAL SCREAM

Lamb of God and Slipknot cause more than mayhem in Pittsburgh

After the disappointing turn out with Mayhem Fest this year, I can honestly say that “The Summers Last Stand Tour” is summer’s savior concert for metal fans. I did miss the first two bands (Motionless in White and Bullet for My Valentine)   but I heard that they both put on a hell of a show.

Lamb of God were as loud and energetic as they were when I seen them back in 2004.  Randy and company still can belt out a insanely in your face performance. It’s no wonder why Lamb of God is one of the biggest names in metal now. With older songs “Walk With Me in Hell” “Laid to Rest” and “Redneck” and new headbangers “512” and “Still Echoes” chaos was sure to ensue, and did just that. Lamb of God proves that kick ass metal is here to stay and so are they. Incredible performance from Lamb of God. Can’t wait for the next round.

Slipknot is a band that I have loved and followed since the age of fifteen. I remember the first time I heard the self titled album and being completely blown away by the originality, lyrics, sound, emotion, and all. Unfortunately I had never got the chance to see a live show. That is until last Thursday night. And I have to say that sixteen years was well worth the wait. Everything that you hear on any Slipknot album translates perfectly into their live performance. From Corey Taylors singing and screaming, to Mick Thompson and Jim Root’s heavy and sonic guitar work, to newcomer Jay Weinbergs drumming. Really there is just way too much too even discuss about a Slipknot live show.  Even without bassist Alessandro Alex Venturella, Slipknot still put on what I can easily say was the best concert experience I have witnessed.  I urge anyone who has not seen a live performance from Slipknot to please do so. It is a feast for both the eyes and ears.
